Higher altitude area located within the region of Eden Valley. Temperatures are some of the coolest in the Barossa, giving us wonderful intense lime, zingy acid and a fine, floral character in the wine. Altitude is greater than 500-600m above sea level. 30 and 40 year old vines lie across podzolic soils – sand over yellow and red clay.
The palate is intense and generous with lively lime and citrus flavours, finishing dry with refreshing, long acidity. As is the case with all great Eden Valley Rieslings, this wine will age gracefully into a mature wine.

- Background
In 1847, the people of Krondorf began a wine industry that helped lay the foundation for what the Barossa is today. As custodians of this legacy, our winemakers craft modern expressions of signature Barossa varietals. Intense floral aromas and notes of bright, mouthwatering fruit give way to vibrant acidity and citrus flavours with mineral undertones.

Sourcing is from High Eden which is an area of higher altitude but is still located within the region of Eden Valley. Podzolic soils (sand over yellow and red clay) Altitude is greater than 500-600m above sea level. Average vine age is between 30 & 40 year old vines however some newer improved clones have been planted more recently
The winter of 2021 brought good rainfall to fill vineyard soil profiles. A cool, start to the growing season resulted in budburst occurring two weeks later than average. An extreme hail event on 28 October decimated the young growth across some vineyards and significant crop potential lost. Late flowering (late November/early December) resulted in good fruit set, albeit smaller yields. Rain in late January kicked off veraison and ripening and provided a mild and dry finish to the summer. 2022 was a late start to vintage - 1-2 weeks later than the historical average. The resultant wines display sheer elegance with excellent aroma and flavour intensity with bright acidity and excellent ageing potential.
